During the early 1900s, nearly 7,300 Koreans — most of them men — made their way from Korea to Hawaii to scratch out a new life in a foreign land filled with promise. But these men needed mates, and women were lured there by hope for freedom, education and prosperity not possible in their homeland.

This is one woman’s journey to overcome many obstacles in life to find happiness.   As her adopted city grows, the heroine experiences opportunity, happiness, heartache and prejudice.  Eventually she finds success, love and family in her new home.
